Quantum two-state dynamics driven by stationary non-Markovian discrete noise: Exact results

چکیده
We consider the problem of stochastic averaging of a quantum two-state dynamics driven by non-Markovian, discrete noises of the continuous time random walk type (multistate renewal processes). The emphasis is put on the proper averaging over the stationary noise realizations corresponding, e.g., to a stationary environment. A two-state non-Markovian process with an arbitrary non-exponential distribution of residence times (RTDs) in its states with a finite mean residence time provides a paradigm. For the case of a two-state quantum relaxation caused by such a classical stochastic field we obtain the explicit exact, analytical expression for the averaged Laplace-transformed relaxation dynamics. In the limit of Markovian noise (implying an exponential RTD), all previously known results are recovered. We exemplify new more general results for the case of non-Markovian noise with a biexponential RTD. The averaged, real-time relaxation dynamics is obtained in this case by numerically exact solving of a resulting algebraic polynomial problem. Moreover, the case of manifest non-Markovian noise with an infinite range of temporal autocorrelation (which in principle is not accessible to any kind of perturbative treatment) is studied, both analytically (asymptotic long-time dynamics) and numerically (by a precise numerical inversion of the Laplace-transformed averaged quantum relaxation). 2005 Elsevier B.V. Synchronization in Periodically Driven and Coupled Stochastic Systems--A Discrete State Approach
We investigate the behavior of stochastic bistable and excitable dynamics based on a discrete state modeling. In addition to the well known Markovian two state model for bistable dynamics we introduce a non Markovian three state model for excitable systems. Its relative simplicity compared to stochastic models of excitable dynamics with continuous phase space allows to obtain analytical results...
متن کاملQuantum dynamics with non-Markovian fluctuating parameters.
A stochastic approach to the quantum dynamics randomly modulated in time by a discrete state non-Markovian noise, which possesses an arbitrary nonexponential distribution of the residence times, is developed. The formally exact expression for the Laplace-transformed quantum propagator averaged over the stationary realizations of such N -state non-Markovian noise is obtained. The theory possesse...
متن کاملNon-Markovian qubit dynamics in the presence of 1/f noise
Within the lowest-order Born approximation, we calculate the exact dynamics of a qubit in the presence of 1/f noise, without Markov approximation. We show that the non-Markovian qubit timeevolution exhibits asymmetries and beatings that can be observed experimentally and cannot be explained within a Markovian theory. The present theory for 1/f noise is relevant for both spinand superconducting ...
متن کاملSwitching Time Statistics for Driven Neuron Models: Analytic Expressions versus Numerics
Analytical expressions are put forward to investigate the forced spiking activity of abstract neuron models such as the driven leaky integrate-and-fire model. The method is valid in a wide parameter regime beyond the restraining limits of weak driving (linear response) and/or weak noise. The novel approximation is based on a discrete state Markovian modeling of the full long-time dynamics with ...

We study the evolution of entanglement and nonlocality of a non-interacting qubit-qutrit system under the effect of random telegraph noise (RTN) in independent and common environments in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. We investigate the dynamics of qubit-qutrit system for different initial states. These systems could be existed in far astronomical objects. A monotone decay of the nonlocalit...
